So much of writing goes beyond simply planning and executing. It can be hard to write when you're not in the proper headspace, or when you are physically uncomfortable… or when there is too much noise or the wrong kind of noise.
Music is a powerful tool. If it's such a great tool… why not try and use it as a writing prompt?
We can always find something to disagree on, but what if we spent more time finding our common ground?
We let our fathers, and society, define for us what it means to be a man. For many, being a 'man' is their identity. The problem? We all have different ideas of what that even means.
Writing brings me to life. It brings the world into sharper focus, helps me process difficult emotions. It's a gift that I received and a gift I will share.
Keep moving forward, knowing that you will fail, but don't forget - failure doesn't define you. It might loom, big as a mountain, but it will soon be a speck in the distance.
For now, however, is the stillness. Unlike most days, I'm not so ready to shoo it away for I know it to be an elusive thing, easily scattered like the fog on a summer's morning.
This isn't the story of someone standing victorious on the other side of a struggle, of someone who has it all figured out and is ready to share with you how to overcome that desire for perfection in all that you do. I think... it's simply a confession.
Come to find out there is more to writing than just being told I can do anything I set my mind to, more to it than having others tell me I can do it.
